The guns are safely locked away, the sun’s setting on another glorious day’s sport, and there’s an evening of gastronomic delight and great company beckoning. It’s cocktail time. So far so enjoyable. But to make life even more fun, we challenged our friends at the Ramsbury Distillery to come up with a few mixed marvels to take you right through the meal. So rustle up a jug or two of Sour Beet or Chestnut Bramble – or both – and place them on the table to accompany those perfectly prepared game dishes.

Sour Beet

Sour Beet

50ml Ramsbury Single Estate Vodka
25ml beetroot Juice
15ml cacao liqueur
5ml sugar syrup 1
10ml lemon juice
20ml egg white

Garnish: Beetroot slice
Glassware: Nick and Nora

Method:
– Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake hard
– Double strain into chilled glass
– Garnish with a thin slice of beetroot
